Why does the Census Matter?

The U.S. government uses the census to determine how much money communities get for vital services like highway construction, Head Start, Medicare, Medicaid, public transportation, and more. The population count is used for 10 years - until the next census - so missing just one person now will cost us thousands over the next ten years.
